Trunk or Treat 2024
Community Connections had a spooktactular time at the annual “Trunk or Treat” event at the Findley Lake Church. The weather was windy and just right for Halloween cheer. Local superheroes, goblins, princesses, cartoon characters and more, went trunk to trunk gathering treats and having spooky fun. Thank you to the amazing organizers and to the volunteers for making this a hauntingly good success.
Lights, Cameras, Action!
This October, Community Connections was visited by the director of the 43 NY State NORC programs (Naturally Occurring Retirement Community) along with a film crew from Evocative Content, based in New York City. The objective was to use this film at the state and federal level to expand services of current NORC programs as well as provide an opportunity to begin new NORCs throughout NY state. Community Connections was selected to showcase their success as a rural NORC. Part of the filming was done during a “Live and Learn” program by Scott Benza. Scott had his two Bernese Mountain dogs, Willow and Sierra, with him, discussing the breed and his love for the dogs. Community Connections is honored to be part of this great initiative!

Steelers Signature Football Raffle
The Steelers Signature Football Raffle has come full circle. In November 2022, Bill Bentley, of Bentley Tree Care, LLC, donated a Steeler’s Football signed by Cam Hayward, to Compass Bar & Grille. Liz and Megan, owners of Compass, held a raffle and generously donated the proceeds to Community Connections at Findley Lake. The winner of the football was Anthony Beckner of Oklahoma who, with his parents, visited family in Findley Lake in August. During a family dinner at Compass, the football was given to Anthony. Thank you to all who supported!
